A little life update

Hey lovelies!
So being unemployed and completely skint I haven't been able to buy anything super special to show you guys ( A few bits from Primark which I shall just show you in a collective haul another time). So I thought I would just waffle on a bit about my life goings on as of late.

Last week it was delightful weather here in the North East (it isn't now however) , so me and the fella decided to go for a little trip to Pets Corner. Now pets corner is clearly one of those places which is better enjoyed as a child. I was super excited to go, but I don't know if you guys get this, it just wasn't the same, seemed smaller and less animals, maybe this is because I am now 22 and not a tot! Nevertheless I still thoroughly enjoyed it, not sure if Will did, I kinda bigged it up to him and when we got there, there wasn't much going on.
Although it is undergoing a £6mil refurbishment so perhaps some more new animals shall arrive soon,. for £6mil perhaps a golden unicorn, and a few diamond encrusted sheep!
It is totally free so right up my street at the mojo, good times were had and here is a few little pics for you to enjoy :)

Oh I have also been trying my hand at making whoopie pies!,. clearly just because I like the name. Google search these babies and there is a million recipes for you to follow, I shan't bore you by writing one here. Heres a picture of my first attempt, and they tasted as good as they looked too. Again, a nice way to spend an afternoon if you are on a budget, and decorated with some cute sparkles and put in a snazzy box these would make a lovely gift for someone :)

Oh also, after staying at my boyfriends for a week or so, I have came home to discover a mouse has moved into my room. Now this isn't just any normal mouse, it is a bloody genius and has managed to escape the 4 traps I have down. It's also completely un-phased by me or any human, just chills as if sitting in the middle of my floor is the most normal thing to do, and I can't catch it for the life of me as its so fast, so if any of you guys have any tips, please let me know, its driving me insane!!

Ok maybe I have rambled on long enough now, hmmm I'm trying to think if there is anything else I need to tell you's,...... Nope, just applying for more jobs, sucks to have graduated in these desperate times, but that my friends is another post and another rant altogether.

Beauty Review: MUA Pro & Superdrug Hot Cloth Cleaner

Hey everyone!

MUA Professional

So a few weeks ago I was In Superdrug and spotted the new MUA Pro range, and I must say I was more than excited. They have so many new products in this line, 7 different Trio eyeshadow's, 6 eyeshadow pallet's containing 12 shadows in each, 6 Extreme metallics shimmer bricks, 3 in 1 all over eye pen, Mascara, Foundations, Concealer pen, Mosaic blushes, Felt liner, Primer and even their version of the crackle nail polish called "Nail Quake"  available in 6 colours. Wowzaaaa! Now I'm sorry I didn't take note of all the prices, however nothing was over £5 and I believe the palettes were the most expensive at £4.50.

Now I only picked up two of the shadow trio's, at £2.50 each. Guess what, MUA have given their products names! So I purchased Chocolate Box and Innocence.

Chocolate Box.

Innocence.
Lets talk packaging, it is still somewhat basic, however I like it, its not over the top, or trying to be something it isn't, its just simple, and lets the product do the talking.

These particular items contain three shadows which are like the baked powders from Mac etc. One is intended for all over the lid, one for outer corner and crease and the lightest shade is for a highlight. This is what is described on the back of the product in a small diagram, but you can use these however you like really. I assume this diagram is only there to help people starting out in make-up, which is a nice friendly little touch.

You also get a sponge applicator inside this mini pallet, which is of a very high quality, you really could get away with using this everyday.
Innocence.

Chocolate box.
The shadows themselves are FANTASTICO! The pigment is amazing, on par if not better than the original MUA range. The colour payoff is great as you can see from the swatches. They blend so so well, and last all day. I haven't got a bad word to say about these, they are just an amazing product, perfect size to put in a handbag and carry with you, the applicator is reliable so you wouldn't have to worry about carrying brushes around with you either if you were wanting to touch up your make up during the day. For £2.50 these are an absolute steal, serious recontamination, and a great range to pick from so get along to Superdrug your bound to find a colour you like and make a  purchase!.

Superdrug Hot Cloth Cleanser

Now I haven't tried Liz Earle's version of this, so I can't compare, I shall simply give you my honest opinion on this particular product and how it worked for me.
Firstly this was only £2.99, which is a great price, considering Superdrug sell a single muslin cloth for £2.09. In the past I have picked up muslin cloths from the baby section of Boots and I think it was about £4 a pack, so to get the cleanser which is a whopping 200ml bottle and the cloth all at this low price already has my backing.

" Vitamin E Hot Cloth Cleanser with muslin cloth is ideal for removing dirt and make up whilst providing gently exfoliation. This will help improve circulation, leaving skin deeply cleansed, soft and radiant,.. Vitamin E, a powerful antioxidant that will help to shield your skin against environmental damage and premature againg,...The rich creamy formula also contains a skin conditioning multivitamin complex comprising vitamins A, B, F and H, which combined with horse chestnut extract, helps to care for your dry skin."

I really love this product, and I must admit it takes a lot to impress me when it comes to cleansers. It took me months and month to find the one I use now and have stuck with it for years. The smell is beautiful, its like coconuts and suntan lotion, very light and calming scent. The cleanser itself is extremely thick, rich and creamy as described on the packaging. A little goes a long way with this product due to its consistency, it had no issues with removing every last scrap of my make up, including mascara. It was very gently on the eye area and caused no stringing or irritation at all, which I rate highly. The cloth is very good quality too, and feels lovely on the skin when it comes to removing the cleanser. It is exactly the right  texture if that makes any sense. I have used clothes which have been much rougher and have been a little too hard for my skin, and at the other end I have used ones that have no effect at all, this is slap bang in the middle and perfect for me.
After I used this my skin was very soft, and all access oil ( and other gross things) had been removed. My face looked clean and the skin very clear. I have had no problems with it yet and shall inform you if my opinion changes, however right now I really rate this and recommend it to you guys. Oh and I do not have dry skin, if anything I have normal to slightly oily, and it still works great for my skin.

Oh and I thought I would add a little picture of how I currently have my nails. So quick and simple to add a splash of colour for the summer. If you would like a tutorial on this look let me know.

A sunny summers eve

Well hello everyone, I thought I'd do a little post about my "adventures". So last night myself and my fella decided to take advantage of us living so close to the seaside and headed down to the coast for a "romantic" picnic, I use the term romantic very loosely as it very quickly turned into me getting attacked by a flock of birds as I innocently tried to feed them, twas like a Hitchcock film I tell thee.

So this was my outfit of the day, consisting of a sheer cream and burnt orange vest, cream espadrilles and a navy and white striped bag all  from Primark, mentioned in a previous haul post. The trousers are tan cotton chino's from New Look and I think they cost around £25 a few months ago. Nothing over the top just a casual outfit for a warm evening. The necklace is from New Look also, it is a long golden chain with white roses around it. Oh and I must apologize for my queer squinty face, the sun was in my eyes.

And this is a little picture of Will and myself with the beach in the background. We are soooo lucky to live around 10 mins ( metro ) away from the coast.

So I will just show you a few of the other pictures I took last night, and if you ever get a chance to visit, you really must :)
The Priory Castle, Tynemouth

All was well, making bird friends

Castle again

All went horribly wrong with my new found bird friends

Then the sun began to set, and it was time to go home <3

Thank you for reading and stay tuned for make up reviews.

Get to know me tag thingy

Ok, so since I am new to this, I thought I'd answer these tag questions so lovelies can get to know me a little better.
Here we go :

1. Do you have a middle name?
Nope, it is my personal belief my parents were far to lazy to give me one.

2. What is/was your favourite subject in school?
Art and/or Textiles, I went on to study both at college then do a degree in Fine Art at uni

3. What's your favourite drink?
I do enjoy just plain old water, or if I am living on the edge I'll opt for some Irn Bru. If we are talking alcohol its Kopperburg strawberry and Kiwi

4. Favourite songs at the moment?
I am throughly enjoying Adele - Set fire to the rain. She has a beautiful voice and I could happily listen to her for hours.

5. What would you name your children?
This isn't something I have given much thought if I am honest, I'm really not that maternal at all. Hmmm if I have to be put on the spot I do like Scarlet for a gal and maybe Thomas for a boy.

6. Do you participate in any sports?
Not.At.All,.. I was on my local swimming team when I was younger, and still enjoy it, however I wouldn't say I am part of a sports club or anything like that. I will work out with my boyfriend ( as he is a giant fitness geek)  Truthfully I will do as little as possible to make sure I am in a decent shape, but apart from that, no.

7. Favourite Book?
This is tricky, I guess I just love all my art books, which are full of inspiration. I get addicted to booky wook when that was released. Oh and I like books about criminals and bad people, but I couldn't pick one single favourite book. I just enjoy reading and expanding my knowledge on whatever I am interested in at the time.

8. Favourite Colour?
I am an artist I have a certain love for them all

9. Favourite Animal?
I know this may sound boring, but dogs. I just love them, and always make an embarrassing "awwwww" if I walk past a cute one.

10. Favourite Perfume?
Coco Chanel Mademoiselle for the winter months and Chanel Chance for the summer.

11. Favourite Holiday?
Truthfully again this really does not sound exciting for most, but my favourite holidays were always here in England with my dad ( and our pooch ). We would go away in a caravan or something and just really enjoy ourselves and the surroundings. Sounds corny but you really do not have to spend a fortune to have a good time, I think its all about the company, and my dad was my world and the best company I could of ever asked for :)

12. Have you graduated High School?
I have graduated high school, college and university, not to blow ones own trumpet or anything.

13. Have you been out of the country?
I have indeedy, still plenty more places I want to visit though. I have only ever been to the generic holiday resorts such as Ibiza etc, I'd much rather go to Cities and take in the culture rather than lie on a beach and bake myself for two weeks.

14. Do you speak any other Languages?
I can remember a very small amount of German from High School, this is all danke.

15. Do you have any siblings?
I have a big brother, and then an older half brother and sister.

16. What's your favourite store?
I don't know!! gosh I have a few! I like River Island most for jeans as they last forever and are really good fit/quality. I like Primark for on trend bargains and Superdrug ( we have a massive one in Newcastle) for make up etc. However we also have a shop in Newcastle called Fenwicks, its like a higher end department store, and has all things amazing in it ( 2 mac counters, channel, D&G leather, oooh and just lovely things, so maybe if I had to pick one place, this would be it.

17. Favourite Restaurant?
All American Diner ( top floor of Fenwicks)

18. Do you like school?
I wasn't so keen on High School, it was full of "chavs" and was a tad rough. I do however really like education on a whole. I am a strong believer that knowledge is power, this is why I went onto further education and always try to teach myself new things.

19. Favourite Youtubers?
Oh I feel bad if I leave people out on this question, I'll just put my favourites of the moment, Sprinkle of Glitter - she is actually hilarious and I could watch her all day, I've even managed to get my bf to watch this girl and she has us in fits of laughter. Zoella - Again really funny, sweet down to earth girl, and I love her photography. LittleKiva - She was the first person I ever subscribed too, she has some serious style and amazing make up artist,.. and many more but I'd say these are the ones I watch the most of.

20. Favourite Movie?
The original Alice In Wonderland. It.Is.Mad.And.I.Like.It

21. Favourite TV show?
I love a good old documentary, basically because I am nosy and love to watch other peoples lives etc.

22. PC or MAC?
I could never get the hang of using a MAC at uni, maybe I am just too used to PC, so yeah PC, however I would like to get my own MAC and learn its ways.

23. What phone do you have?
An IPhone 4 and I blooooody love it.

24. How tall are you?
I am 5ft6"

Primark Haul July 2011

Hello my lovelies, so this weekend I was staying at my boyfriends who lives rather close to the city centre, and due to this fact  twas the perfect time to shop shop shop. This isn't a massive haul, but just wanted to share with you guys so you can all see what Primark has to offer us this July :)

So I shall start with the accessories that I picked up.

1.
1. This is a beautiful floral bangle. It is in a rather fresh coral/peach colour and as you can see all the flowers are raised from the surface. I was so happy to find this little beaut as I have already had one in the past, however I dropped it and it shattered, as it was one of my favs I had to replace it. Oh and it was in the sale for a £1. I really like the bracelets from Primark, I have pretty small wrists and they always fit me really well, unlike some from other shops which just fall off.

2.
2. Now this is a cute little necklace, it has a ceramic teapot! and if that isn't enough there is a little gold heart charm with "hope" written on it and a pearly bead too. This is so kitch and I have seen similar necklaces online, but this is a fraction of the price. The teapot has a sweet floral design on it, and the necklace itself is rather short, but personally for me, I love the placement of where it sits whilst wearing it. Overall a cute little addition to any girly outfit.

3.

3. I picked up this bracelet after a friend of mine had shown me hers, and when its on, it looks so much more expensive than Primark, if that makes sense. Anyways this is a braid made up from two pieces of black flocked material, and one gold snake chain, finished off nicely with a tassel at the clasp. The tassel is made from black cords and gold chains. I love this bracelet, I really enjoy the chunky clasp and detail at the end of the braid. I've mentioned it looks so much more high end than Primark, but it also looks lovely when paired with the top in figure 8.

4.

4. How could I resist such a bargain £2 for six pairs of totally adorable almost edible earrings! You can see from the picture what they are of, so no need to explain, I'll just mention the flowers in the top row are plastic and the ones on the bottom are ceramic, which you have to be careful with, as I've already broken the leaf off one. Again I would say a must have investment as in my opinion the earing is a very underrated accessory and not many people show them off, but they can really add such a cute look to any outfit. Oh and I have seen pairs similar in other stores, and you wouldn't be able to purchase one pair for £2 let alone six, hmmm maybe I am getting a bit carried away with telling you guys these are a bargain.

5.

5. This necklace is rather similar to the one Urban Outfitters brought out a while back, however there version did open and have a little love letter inside, it was also a lot more expensive. This is on a longer'ish chain, I'd say mid chest length ( I'm not so great with descriptions). I'm seriously impressed with the detail on this, its amazing. The envelope itself has the cute little swirl pattern, then that cute ceramic flower in the corner, but what you can't see, as I couldn't get the camera to focus on it, is that under the flower there is a little row of diamantes following the base. Really for £2 I was surprised with the quality, a lot of effort seems to have gone into this particular design, and it is a rather weighty piece of bling too.

6.
6. This set of earrings were a bit of an impulse purchase, I think I just got over-excited (not in a sexual way) by the jewelry. I'm not totally sure if I even like them yet, maybe they will grow on me. It is a lock and key earring set, the key is chained so that it shall dangle down and float just above your shoulder oh and both have little diamantes on them.

Now onto clothing, I wanted to pick up some floaty/ summery tops to keep cool in the ever so hot English summer ( I jest). I also got a pair of jeggins in the sale for £6.50, however I am wearing these so decided not to include them.

7. £8.50
7.  This is a lovely off white vest top with a burnt orange panel at the bottom, also it lies lower at the back than it does at the front. It is a little sheer, but I wouldn't say you would need to wear a vest underneath. It really hangs well when you wear it, nice and loose yet still flattering to your body,  all these tops I have purchased hang loose and  hide a multitude of sins which is always a bonus in my book.

8. £10
8. This is by far my favorite purchase, after I bought it and got it home I realised it was the wrong size on the wrong hanger, so I had to take it back to swap ( I hate it when this happens!). Again it is this light "silk" fabric, and in a bright coral colour. It can be worn tied at the neckline to show off the ruffles, or untied to show off your cleavage! The sleeves are long and are tight at the wrist, with the fabric being loose again it really flatters your arms, also this would be great for a night out, as it will just keep the chill off your arms while you wait outside a club for your taxi home. The body hangs lower at the back than it does at the front, however it is rather long. I plan to wear this tucked into high waisted chinos and heels for an evening look or with a pair of brown leggings and pumps for a casual daytime look.

9. £4
9. This is a really cute cotton vest, and I'd say a much better alternative to the generic vest as it has very nice detail. What I'm trying to say is,. a basic vest top is about £2, why not pay the extra £2 and get something like this which is very pretty and more versatile. The top has small straps but I'd say you could tuck them in an wear it in the boob tube style. It has a thick elasticated section at the back which means it isn't going to hang down and reveal too much and puts an end to that urge to pull it up every few minuites! I got this in the colour "wine" aka reddy/ brown, it was available in cobalt blue, white and yellow my store too. It also has very sweet rose detail buttons at the front, which are a nice touch and gives it an overall vintage feel. The top (boob) part is tighter and then floats out to a looser fit from the empire line. Usually I hate this cut on me, it always makes me look much bigger and very much pregnant. Primark have converted me however, as this looks fab on, and my advice is to try it on in a size smaller than you would usually wear, as they do carry a bit of excess fabric round the waist which could lead to making you look bigger than you are. Again it is a great length to wear with leggings on a casual summers day.

10. £8
10. Lastly for the clothing I got this cobalt blue shirt. It is made from two sections, the top being rather sheer ( maybe invest in a blue bra) and the bottom being slightly thicker, and what I can only describe as maybe a brushed silk kind of fabric. The top section has two little pockets, which seem to be very popular this summer, I like that they don't hang awkwardly and stay close to the fabric secured by little gold buttons. It is very lightweight and lovely to wear in the heat, I have already worn this and found it so comfortable,. but it did blow up at the front in a gust of wind, revealing my stomach to everyone, GROSS!

11. £7
11. I also got my eye on this after watching a youtube video. I had to purchase it, its became my new weekender bag as it is big enough to fit in a few changesof clothing, make up, shoes etc etc etc. Its a navy and white stripe oil cloth material, which is great if you wanted to use it as a beach bag or to take swimming. I think it has a really classic chic look to it, and will never go out of style. This was £7 but they did have the red and white version on sale for £3, its just my luck but I much preferred this one.

12 £3
13. I wasn't looking for yet another small side bag, but for £3 in the sale it would of been rude not to buy this. It is very basic inside, no zip pockets or phone holders here, but it is lovely, and I really like the embossed design on the fake ( but good knock off) leather. Again it has a very vintage feel, and I plant to jazz it up with maybe one of my vintage/ second hand broaches.

14. £1
14. I have heard great things about some of the Primark make up so decided to give it a try. I was on the look out for " The prime of your life" which is meant to be a dupe of Benefits That Gal primer, but they didn't have any, so I picked up this little palette instead on sale for £1. I thought the colours were very nice, and are the kind I would usually opt for. So you get the four eye-shadows and four mini lip glosses, all very neutral and summery, oh and two little sponge applicators. This is really all I can say about it for now, the packaging is cute and well made, I like the fact it comes with a little mirror in the lid too. I will do a full review of this for you guys in the next week or so when I have really tested it out.

Oh and I got three little pairs of canvas espadrilles as they were on sale for ONE ENGLISH POUND each :)

Thanks for reading <3

Wishlist

So I have been trying to get into the habit of taking pictures of "inspirational" things or items I rather fancy whilst out and about.
I thought I would share a few with you guys, tell me what you think, and if you would like places to buy them/ prices etc let me know.
Oh and the images are taken using the IPhone 4 so the quality isn't amazing, I know, sorry.
How nice are these bad boys!

It is my personal belief everybody should have a pigeon cushion in their home.

Pricey, but I like it :)

I adore the cushion
A little cake shop, but look at their wallpeper!

I wish I had a kitchen like this, a gal can dream...

So cute

A few reviews

Ahoy there and other nautical expressions! On this rainy Friday afternoon I thought I would try my hand at actually writing a real blog post, so wish me luck :) I have recently made a few little beauty purchases and thought I would share my views with you all.
Sorry for some reason I can't get this picture the correct way round,. oh dear

So the first thing I shall talk (write about) is the new range of V05  shampoo, conditioner and hair care products. I bought these from Tesco as they had a buy one get one free offer on the shampoo and conditioner, and I shan't lie to you little beauties, this is the first/only reason I was tempted over to the V05 section. I usually just stick with what I know for shampoo and the such as it has taken me quite some time to find a product which actually works for my hair. Anywhoo less rambling and lets talk products. I picked up the ones for "damaged hair" and I can assure you, I have the most damaged coarse hair imaginable now, due to bleaching. I decided to go from my natural extremely dark brown hair, to a white/platinum blonde colour, so as you can imagine it has been through utter hell ( poor little fro). Oh and I paid about £3.50 for both due to the offer. Now I am impressed with these on a whole, however I do find after I have shampoo'd my hair, and before I apply the conditioner, my hair feels HORRIBLE!, almost as if it has been stripped completely of all things nice and lovely, however it is extremely clean and it does manage to get rid of the tons of pesky hairspray I use. Then I slather, yes slather! on some of the conditioner and all is right with the world again, it leaves my hair beautifully soft and feeling well nourished. It smells pleasant, not too overpowering but nice, it is more of a salon smell rather than a fruity smell, if that makes any sense at all, and I apologies if it doesn't.  Once I have towel dried my hair I use the other V05 product I purchased which is their new miracle concentrate "elixir with argon oil". This again I purchased from Tesco for about £5, and it is fast becoming my most reached for hair product. My hair drinks it up like a thirsty drunk and LOVES it, it does not leave my hair feeling greasy, which I was expecting with it being an oil. Also on the bottle it says a little goes a long way, however I did put on a little too much and still did not end up with greasy oily hair, hmmm maybe my hair is just so damaged it can handle a larger amount. I am rambling again, I can definitely say go give these a try, especially as they are on offer at the minute, I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

The next product to review is the Johnson's 3in1 cleansing lotion. I adore this, and I have found my local pound shop keeps it in stock which is fantastic! It is usually £3.05 in Superdrug, it is in a slightly different shaped bottle, however I think this pound shop bargain is imported from a foreign country hens the differences. I initially bought the one from Superdrug and was blown away with how effective it is, I was on the look out for a cheaper alternative to the Lancome Bi-Facial £19.50, which is what I used to use, and found this little gem. It is a combination of two liquids which you shake to activate, just like Bi-Facial, and works just as well if not better. I find it leaves absolutely no oily residue on my face, and removes even 5million layers of waterproof mascara. It claims to condition the eyelashes with its moisturising and restructuring ingredients, and I honestly believe it does. My lashes seem a lot stronger and grow happily since using this, and by happy I mean they don't fall out when I curl them anymore etc.

Onto the next item which is the Garnier summer body moisturing lotion, sun kissed look. I picked this up again from my local Pound Shop,  after watching a review on youtube by SWalker. I got it to use the same way she did, which was to put on after fake tanning, to keep the tan topped up and moisture my skin to hopefully make it last longer. I have never ever had anything good to say about gradual tanning moisturisers as I have sensitive skin and in the past they have always irritated or caused a rash. However this one has been a great success. It has kept my tan looking as dark as the first day of application, and kept my skin really happy. It has natural apricot extract, which means it does not have the usual horrible fake tan smell, but if I'm honest I'm not to keen on this smell either, I find it too strong and overpowering. I apply it before bed and can't wait till the smell subsides as its almost sickly ( in my opinion). For £1 I got 250ml which is fantastic and it is something I will make sure to repurchase, as it is summer I tend to fake tan more and this is a fantastic way to make a more expensive fake tan go a long way.

The last product I have bought to review is the new Simple spotless skin quick fix cleansing wipes. Now, I wouldn't advice these if you are wanting a wipe to remove all your make up before bed etc, these in my opinion are NOT moist enough. I tried them before bed,had to use 2, and rub my eyes quite a bit which caused irritation and soreness. I am however going to continue to use them up ( because I am tight and don't want to waste them) but I now use my Johnson's make up remover first on the eyes and to take of the majority of my make up, then use one of these wipes to "finish the job". They smell very antibacterial, a little like tee tree, which isn't to my taste but expected from a spot fighting product. I do find they remove excess oils from my skin and I have had a lot clearer skin since using these, I just wish they had a little more "wetness" to them :).

Lastly I had been collecting the tokens from Fabulous magazine (3 in total) in order to get my free gift which was 2 Nails Inc polishes in colours made in collaboration with Fabulous. I thought I would just include these in this as they are a recent addition to my collection, however I didn't really have to pay for them. I shall do a full review of these in a separate blog post, maybe even include a sprinkle of nail art :)
