July Favorites 2011, Make up & Body

Hi there, as you can see from the title this is a July favorite post, I shall get straight into it for you guys.

Lets start off with FACE products.

So my first fav is this Garneir eye roll on. I bought this on a whim as it was on a special offer of £5 in Asda, usually it is something like £11, oh and I got it in the lightest shade.  I am so glad I picked this up, you roll it beneath your eyes and the cooling sensation is amazing, it feels so good especially in the hot summer mornings and really wakes me up. I wasn't  expecting the concealer to be up to much, but I reckon its one of the best I have ever tried, the formula is great for covering slight blemishes but in my opinion it is fantastic at generally brightening the eye area to give a more natural finish, rather than a cakey concealed one. I use this everyday and have had no adverse effects on my skin, which I am prone to on the delicate eye area. I shall deffo be repurchasing this when it runs out, as I now believe it is worth the full price.

In the summer my skin tends to get oily so I usually to set my foundation with a powder to make it last a bit longer. I got originally got this at Christmas and it retails at £6.50 from elf.co.uk. I used it pretty much everyday then it got lost in the bottom of my collection, however I have now rediscovered it and it is a godsend. The formula is so finely milled and lightweight. I use a small amount of a big fluffy brush and just apply it all over my face. With it being translucent it doesn't really take away any colour from a tan ( not that I have a great one). Also it doesn't leave me looking too matte, which I think isn't a great look for the summer anyways. A little goes a long way and this pot lasts forever!

Next is something I have only recently purchased after watching BeautyCrushes youtube videos. It is the elf brow and lash gel. I am LOVING this product. I used to just use a bit of Vaseline to set my brows after powdering them, but this is my new go too product regarding the brows. You get a clear brow gel on one side and a clear mascara on the other, as you can see the brow gel has taken a hammering as it it now a nice sludgey colour. All I can say is this really works, it keeps my brows in shape all day ( even after sweating in the sun, gross!). It is a mere £1.50 from elf.co.uk and again I recommend it to everyone!!

This is the baked bronzer by Accessorize in shade 1. I have had this for quite some time now, I'd say maybe 6 months ( maybe more) and it is just a general favorite, I use it everyday as a highlight. Now its summer I use this all over the face too as its just the perfect shade and not too shimmery to give a really healthy glow. I got this in the sale so sorry I really cannot remember how much I paid for it, but I am sure it is still available.

Lastly for the make up items is the Sleek Curacio Palette. My boyfriend got me this at the beginning of the month and I can't put it down.  Usually I am a neutrals kinda gal and really just thought I would use this when it came to doing fancy dress kinda looks, as bright colours aren't my everyday choice. I must admit my mind has been changed, after having a play around with it I find myself using some of these colours daily. The pigment is amazing, I'd say the best out of all the sleek palettes. I usually do a neutral eye then add a pop of one of these colours under the lower lash line to just brighten up the look and make my face look all happy and summery. All of the colours blend so well and a little goes a long way, even thought they look so bright in the palette they can be blended and sheered out to create a really nice everyday eye.

Sorry I can't get this pic to go the right way round :(

Lets talk body products!

I got the Sanex Pro Hydrate at the middle of the month, I have very sensitive skin and swear by sanex products ( I always go back to them) as they just clean so well and never irritate.
The summer has really took its toll on my skin, my body skin has gotten dry and my face oily, grrrrrrr, so I thought I would give this a try as it was on offer ( I bloody love an offer) for a mere £1.35.
It lathers so well and has a really nice soft and gentle smell. It really has left my skin much happier and moisturized ( as far as a shower cream can do). I also like it as it makes a great shaving cream and is easy on my face too. Overall 10/10 for this product.

Ok so not such a glamorous topic, but I really do not like to be sweaty in the summer, in fact I just hate the summer, I don't do well with heat at all and can't wait for Autumn to arrive or the day I immigrate to th North Pole were I can function properly (sorry for the rant).
This year I made it my mission to find a deodorant that really does the job, and I found it!
I initially bought the roll on, shower fresh and I believe it was about £1.50 from Tesco, I was wowed by it so went back and got the spray. I have never found a deodorant that actually keeps you dry all day untill I came across this beauty. It really does the trick, and yes I know the packaging isn't girly and the scents are limited ( shower fresh, scentless and maybe a floral kinda one), but I am prepared to overlook all of the above if it does the trick. Girls I say go pick this up and never worry about any embarrassing sweat moments this summer again!

I was really wanting to pick up a body spray like this as many people were raving on youtube about them and they seemed like a rather good inexpensive way to keep fresh. After looking for a scent I liked (and failing) I found this in the back of my wardrobe. I believe it had came from an FCUK set I was given as a gift for Christmas. The scent is " A floral oriental scent built around a delicious fusion of violet pepper and vanilla notes". Well I'm not sure if I can smell all of that, but it is very refeshing to spray on after a shower and during the day to perk yourself up a bit. To me it smells like flowers and parma violets. The scent stays on the skin for about 4/5 hours before you need to top up. I just love it, and hope it never runs out as I haven't even looked to see if they still make it.

I'm not sure if this should even be in the favorites post but I can't stop wearing this stag ring I got from Primark, I think it was around £2, and it is awesome! I love the kinda taxidermy edge to it. They also has it in necklace form, so I may have to go pick that up too.

Lastly I wasn't sure if I was going to do a separate post on this, hens all the photographs, but it is the Beauty Uk nail polish in PEACH MELBA. I have never tried any of the Beauty Uk products but have heard great things about them. I was looking for a new peachy polish, I had tried Barry M Peach Melba and although it was pretty I wanted something more muted and pastel. I also have Illamasqua polish in Purity which is simalar again but it has more of an orange tone. So when I stumbled across this in Superdrug I made it my business to try in my quest for the perfect peach. I have been pleasantly surprised, it was only £1.99 for 9ml, which isn't a great deal of product but who cares for that price I can just repurchase when it runs out.

The formula is OK, a little thin,  I have three coats on here to really build the colour but you could get away with one or two depending on what intensity you are wanting. These pictures are after the colour has been on for 5 days, NOT ONE SINGLE CHIP! I can't rate this highly enough. I will deffinately be investing in more BeautyUk products, and will keep you up to date when this nail polish has to be removed, although I doubt it will ever chip and only come off when I fancy a change of colour.

Stay Classy xox
