Matchy matchy make-up,...?

Just a quick post.

I was intrigued when Lisa Eldridge posted a video with the title "Matchy Make-up", the contents of which blew me away. She describes this as the new 'look' or 'style' of make up on the catwalk for this Autumn and Winter. Basically matching your eyes, lips, cheeks and even nails in a similar shade or hue. You need to go check out the overall effect in here video, this is the link.
I gave this a little try myself, it was so simple to do and cut about 20 mins off my usual getting ready time. The overall effect is so classic and really flattering.

The products I used apart from my usual foundation/skin routine were:

  • Elf Duo Eye Shadow Cream - Butter Pecan. I used the lightest shade all over the lid and up towards the brow bone as a base.
  • La Femme Blush - Cinnabar, I dusted this all over the eye lid and again up towards the brow, no definite shape, just a wash of colour. I also used this on the cheeks.
  • Mac Viva Glam Gaga 2 on the lips.
  • Accessorize Baked Bronzer - Shade 1, I used this to highlight the cheek bones, under the brow and a small amount in the inner corner of the eye.

I then applied black eyeliner to my waterline and slatherings of black mascara to both sets of lashes.

Hope you like the overall look, and go check out the video.
Stay Classy
